Phoenix Children’s Designated a GLUT1 Deficiency Collaborative Care Network Site

Phoenix Children’s is officially a GLUT1 Deficiency Collaborative Care Network site, highlighting their expertise in rare neurological care and ketogenic diet therapy in partnership with Barrow Neurological Institute. This designation reflects Phoenix Children’s commitment to providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for children with GLUT1 Deficiency Syndrome, which is a rare genetic disorder affecting glucose transport in the brain. The collaboration aims to enhance patient outcomes and support families affected by this condition.

Physicians can refer patients through streamlined online referral tools, with urgent transfers and provide-to-provider consultations supported by the Connected Care Center.
